In response to the challenges faced by charging station managers, Ecotap has teamed up with Siemens to make its charging stations suitable for dynamic load management! This reliable and scalable solution grows with the energy needs of businesses and makes further sustainability achievable in practice.
‘More and more charging station operators are looking for smart solutions to use their available energy more efficiently,’ says Vincent Liebe (CCO of Ecotap). ‘Take, for example, a taxi company that wants to charge multiple cars quickly but only has a limited connection capacity. In such a case, you want to distribute the available power intelligently across the charging stations so that all vehicles charge optimally without overloading the grid.’
‘That capacity can be distributed in various ways,’ says Jozef Bouwels (product manager at Siemens). ‘For example, all vehicles can receive the same amount, according to the first in, first out principle, or by balancing fast charging and normal charging. The system works with algorithms that are fully adjusted to the user’s wishes and the specific application during installation.’
In recent years, Ecotap has installed around 100,000 charging stations at locations including hotels, hospitals, shopping centres, car dealerships and logistics companies. Thanks to the collaboration with Siemens, these charging points can be controlled intelligently!
